My love for books and the publishing world began when I was a 14-year-old boy living in King William’s Town. I had just given my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, and within me grew a deep hunger to know more about Him and the new life I had received.
At the time, it had been seven years since my father had passed away. I often wished he were still alive to witness my conversion, especially because he himself had been a follower of Christ. Yet, in a remarkable way, that void was soon touched by two items of his that I discovered while searching through old cabinets at home: a Good News Bible and a book by Kenneth E. Hagin titled What to Do When Faith Seems Weak and Victory Lost.
I remember the excitement and curiosity I felt as I turned the pages of that book and realized that its message was deeply rooted in Scripture. I spent countless hours studying the Bible alongside that book, and with every page, I felt my faith growing stronger and my understanding of God deepening.
That was the moment the seed of my love for books was planted.
But I did not only read books — I studied them. I became fascinated by every detail: the cover design, the interior layout, the copyright page, the structure of the message, and how words could be arranged in a way that transformed lives. As I encountered more books over time, my love for reading grew into a passion for writing.
I began turning my Bible study notes into handwritten books inside exercise books. Soon, I had an entire bag filled with self-made titles, each carefully designed with decorated covers and my name proudly written as the author. Even at that young age, a dream had already been conceived within me: one day, I would become an author.
As the dream matured, it expanded beyond writing. I no longer wanted to simply write books — I wanted to publish them. At school, I would spend time at my desk sketching logos and imagining what my future publishing company would look like. That dream later influenced my decision to pursue studies in Journalism. Although I had initially searched for a course specifically focused on publishing, Journalism became the closest path available to me, especially because it included Publishing as one of the subjects.
In 2011, I self-published my first book, Discovering Your True Identity. However, life soon took an unexpected turn as I ventured into the entertainment industry as a stand-up comedian and later a television show host. Along the way, the dream of being an author and publisher slowly faded into the background.
Today, I stand overwhelmed with gratitude and joy as I witness everything coming full circle through the release of my second paperback book, The Truth About Sex, and the establishment of Unearthing Destinies Publications.
Rather than giving a conventional “About the Founder,” I felt it was important to share the journey behind how we arrived here — because Unearthing Destinies Publications is more than a company. It is the continuation of a dream planted many years ago through faith, books, purpose, and the belief that words have the power to shape lives and awaken destinies.
I hope you will become part of this journey of rediscovery, transformation, and the unearthing of destinies.
